About this course

This course provides childminders with the essential knowledge and training required to meet the EYFS requirements around safeguarding and child protection. It will cover their responsibility to keep children safe and act on concerns. Including their role as the designated safeguarding lead (DSL) and the processes relating to allegation and the role of the LADO. However if the childminder employs assistants they will also need to attend the full Early Years designated safeguarding lead (DSL) Part 2 - safe staffing and creating a positive safeguarding culture. This course meets the safeguarding training requirements listed in Annex C of the EYFS. This course is fully funded by Hertfordshire County Council Early Years Service and is suitable for registered childminders working with early years children in Hertfordshire only.   • to understand safeguarding and child protection and how they relate to your role

  • recognise the indicators of abuse and understand the process for reporting suspected abuse
