About this course

An in-person event focussing on the Paediatric First Aid blended learning course combining eLearning with face‑to‑face training, meeting Ofsted and EYFS requirements for early years settings.

  • Be able to assess an emergency situation and prioritise what action to take

  • Understand the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider (including appropriate contents of a first aid box and the need for recording accidents and incidents)

  • Provide first‑aid support for a baby or child across a wide range of emergencies, including unresponsiveness (breathing or not), seizures, choking, bleeding, shock (hypovolemic or anaphylactic), electric shock, burns, fractures, head/neck/back injuries, poisoning, foreign bodies, eye injuries, bites/stings, extreme temperatures, and medical emergencies such as diabetic issues, asthma attacks, allergic reactions, meningitis and febrile convulsions.
